I've been doing fun projects for a lot longer than I've been blogging, so I decided that every Thursday I will do a Throwback Thursday post that recounts a pre-blog adventure.
This week, I am sharing the pictures we took that introduced the people we love to the news that we were expecting a new baby. It was so much fun that we did announcement pictures for our gender reveal and new baby photos.
Luckily for us, my dad is a fantastic photographer. He doesn't typically take pictures of people but he makes an exception for our family :) Feel free to check out his awesome photography gallery and blog.
We did the photo shoot in Gavin's playroom because one of the walls is a chalkboard. There were a couple different poses and setups.
We ended up choosing this picture to share with our family and friends and got rave reviews!
For our gender reveal, I searched through a bunch of ideas on Pinterest. After picking a few favorites, Paul and I chose one that highlighted Gavin. He absolutely loved being the star of the photo shoot :)
The first two photo shoots were so much fun that a couple days after Olivia was born we had my dad take more pictures. We got several amazing shots, despite Olivia being a total diva. I'm pretty sure she managed to get almost every possible bodily fluid on Paul at one point or another throughout the process, haha. Here are a few of my favorites.
In the end, we decided to announce Olivia's birth with a retake of our pregnancy announcement.
I even made a mashup of the two pictures :)
I think the most important thing is to have photographs that represent who you are as a couple and family. These photos cement the memory of that time to me and I will cherish them forever.
See you soon,
