If you came to this post looking for expert advice, you may want to look elsewhere. I am not a seasoned blogger who has been doing this forever and a day. I just started this blog a little over a week ago and have been trying to learn as I go. What I do have going for me is that I have spent my entire life reading and writing and dreaming about the day I could make money writing. Hopefully that is the path this blog will take for me.
Before starting Meeshie's World, I spent lots of time on Pinterest coming up with new projects and ways to make life more efficient and enjoyable. The only difference now is that I am documenting the things we do. The writing has gone quickly for me but it is surprising how much more time it takes when you are taking pictures of every step. I have also had several instances where I realized hours later that I forgot to take a picture of a crucial step or a final result. For example, I took pictures of the whole process I went through to make Crockpot Chicken Enchiladas the other day, then forgot to take a picture after it was done baking... Oops!
Aside from taking pictures and writing, which are two things I have loved my whole life, there is the money making aspect of blogging. So far, I have barely scratched the surface, probably because I have a very small reach right now. But I am hoping that as my influence grows, so will my potential for making money.
There are several different ways that I've found to make money through blogging.
- Affiliate Links
- Sponsored Posts
- Website Ads
You can also join Influencer Networks like Sverve which offer a variety of ways to use your blog to make money. I'm certain that there are probably way more than that, but like I said... I'm new :)
I have also discovered that there is a huge network of bloggers! The majority aren't competing against each other, but are instead supporting each other. Using Link Up Parties to promote and share each others posts is one of my favorite new ways to connect. It is a great way to not only find fabulous new information and blogs, but also to connect with other people who are working toward similar goals. Within the short time that I've been doing this, several experienced bloggers have reached out to me with information and support. It is such a good feeling that someone wants to connect with you.
All in all, I am having so much fun blogging! I have no idea how long it will take for me to start making money but for now I'm just enjoying the process!
If you are a fellow blogger and have any advice for a newbie, I would love to hear what you have to say!
See you soon!
How cool that you're so new and are already on linky parties! You wouldn't believe how long it took me to find out about them! lol

I learned from reading this about Swerve. How do I use it to make money? I just left a tip. Thanks!

Thanks! With Sverve, you connect all of your info (blog, social media, etc) and it also is kind of like Pinterest where you share links that people can like and re-share. The more connected you get (followers, shares, stats) the higher your influence score becomes and as that raises you become eligible for more paid campaigns! I'm still learning as I go, but so far it is a fun way to expand!
DeleteI am featuring you on my site tomorrow. Congratulations! You won the Inspire Me Monday Linky Party!
